This is a note to let everyone know that I just finished putting together a new slide show of personal photos and background music that spans across my twelve months as a grunt in Vietnam 70/71. I think it’s much better than the earlier video that was accidently destroyed by a third party company I used. I’m anxious to hear your feedback. Nice job! What happened at the 25th reunion of the Chicago Welcome Home parade? That parade was the proudest day of my life.

There was a hospitality suite in the Hilton hotel that was filled on Fri and Sat…live entertainment and vendors lined the walls. I, too, loved the parade and have an article about the parade and an interview at WGN a few years ago.

Outstanding, John.
One little nitpick . . . Camp Brooks is actually Camp Books, named for Cpl. Jay Books, USMC who was killed by an NVA 122mm rocket on 16 November 1966.
Also, about 2-years prior to your arrival, C/2/501st/101st was overrun at Tomahawk and suffered 58 casualties. You were standing on hallowed ground.
Great website.
