I’ve collected over 150 different paintings and artwork depicting the Vietnam War. Most were obtained from Pinterest – I’ve included author names when available. If the author is unknown, then I’ve listed the website where it was last posted. If you recognize a print without an author listed, please get back to me with the number of the print and author name and I’ll make the corrections. Many almost look like real photos and it’s difficult to believe it’s a painting. In addition, Joe Kline has recently published a video on Facebook that shows many of his prints to music – I’ve added it to the end of this article. I hope you enjoy this presentation.

Joe Kline put this video together of many of his artwork prints (some you’ve already seen) – make sure you turn up the sound.
This pen and ink drawing by John Francis Davies is titled “Tail end – Linebacker II
This note from Julio Garcia: I spent over a decade collecting and retouching paintings about battles and war machines from all ages and I share them in tumblr.
I have been recently uploading them to dropbox so you can download them in hi resolution, as tumblr shrinks them, the modern wars gallery is not yet available for download, will be done in the coming months, but you can still enjoy it at tumblr
http://pinturasdeguerra-1945-1985.tumblr.com/My main site, there’s an entry with a complete list and links to all other galleries of war paintings from all ages, there are about ten of them

A few years ago I went to the annual Vietnam veterans gathering at the park in Melbourne, Fl. There was a G.P. large set up with artwork like this. The picture that moved me was a picture of a Vietnamese man, woman, and child surrounded by a NVA soldier, a VC soldier, A south Vietnamese soldier, and an American soldier. The title of the painting was “Caught In The Middle”. This picture so epitomized the civilians in that country.

This has been a terrific experience. Having been in the 1st Cav in II Corps and I Corps, i still got a kick out of the three depictions of B/229th birds in the Ia Drang Valley-clearly seen as B Co. aircraft by the the blue square covering the door.

Wonderful art work but I have 1 problem on # 36 it shows a ET CH-46 Sea Knight helo belonging to HMM-262 I was in 262 from oct-67 to aug-69 and flew 381 missions am sick and tired of people calling these planes Chinooks. They are Sea Knights and the work horses of the 3rd Marine Divison and all who served in northern I Corps from 67 to when 262 left Quang Tri. CH-46 outfits included HMM -361 HMM-263 HMM-161 and many more beyond brave and heroic 46 units and crews. Keep up the good work but remember CH-46s are not Chinooks !!!!!!!! Chinooks are ARMY planes and 46s belonged to the USMC. Sgt. B.R. Lee HMM-262 ,67-68-69

The VA spent 22 million in artwork. Has anyone ever considered donating their art to the local hospitals/clinics. I’m sure there are many great artists.
